Tom Isanhart

Tom was the first football player from DeWitt to be named All-State when he was selected to both the Associated Press Class C All-State first team and the Detroit News Class C-D All-State first team as an end in 1961. This honor came after helping lead the Panthers to an undefeated season (8-0) and Central Michigan D Conference championship. Despite suffering a broken wrist the previous spring, Tom caught seven touchdown passes and kicked 21 extra points. In addition to being a three-time varsity letter winner in football, Tom also earned varsity letters in basketball and baseball for a total of nine. Tom also earned first team all-conference honors in basketball. After graduating from DeWitt in 1962, he went on to play football and baseball at Central Michigan University, where he earned a bachelor of science in education. Following graduation, Tom returned to DeWitt as a teacher while also coaching football, basketball and baseball.
