Jacob Redinger

Jacob was named to the Associated Press Special Mention Class B All-State defensive line for the 2019 season. He was also named as the Detroit Free Press First Team defense, Detroit News First Team defense, Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Honorable Mention defense, Lansing State Journal Dream Team defense and Capital Area Activities Conference Blue Division First Team defense. Redinger was the anchor on the defensive line that led the Panthers to consecutive MHSAA Division 3 Semi-Final appearances. As a junior, DeWitt finished 12-1 pitching three shutouts and six other games gave up only one touchdown. His senior senior season DeWitt finished 10-3 before bowing to powerhouse Muskegon 28-21. The 6'3", 290 pound lineman was the lineman that other teams did not want to run at or could not run away from. His quickness and abilty to read offensive linemen were a key to his defensive prowess. Perhaps his best all around game was the regional final against highly ranked Edwardsburg and their powerful running game that the Panthers shut down.

Jacob finished his Panther career with 25 solo tackles, 27 assists and three sacks. Panther Coach Rob Zimmerman said of Redinger "Jacob had an outstanding career for us and had a tremendous senior year. His physicality and size forced every team to double team him. He was the key to our defense being so dominant this season. He is, without question, one of the top defensive linemen we have ever had at DeWitt."
