Elliott was named to the Michigan Sports Writers All-State First Team as a quarterback for the 2024 season. He was also named to the Detroit Free Press First Team All-State, Detroit News Second Team All-State, Lansing State Journal All-Area Offensive Player of the Year, Michigan High School Football Coaches Association First Team as well as CAAC Red Division All-Conference as a quarterback. He also was in the top four for consideration of the prestigious Mr. Football award by State Champs Network. Larner was a true dual threat quarterback with speed, strength and rocket like arm that led the 2024 Panthers to one of the most prolific offensive teams in the area, State and Nation. Running Coach Rob Zimmerman's complex offense sets, the team set a State record with 6,715 total yards. The 96 offensive team touchdowns, 702 points are high in the State record books and 7th in the Nation for scoring average with 54.0 points in a game for 2024. They scored on 84% of offensive possessions. The Panthers finished 12-1 and a trip to the Division 3 state semi-finals. Elliott set the tone of the 2024 season by rushing through and past rival Haslett defense for a 73 yard touchdown run on the first play of the season. His 277 yard and four touchdown passing effort along with 260 yard four touchdown rushing effort showed his offensive prowess and toughness early. He led DeWitt to a wild 70-63 victory against a highly ranked Hurricane, WV team with two touchdowns passing and a school record 279 yard rushing, and five touchdowns. His senior stats showed 115 of 177 passes completed for 2,244 yards and 34 touchdowns with only one interception. Rushing, he amassed 1,911 yards and 25 touchdowns and accounted for 4,155 yards and 59 touchdowns. Elliott's career shows his name high on the list of a number of Panther and State record categories. He passed for 5,351 yards and 65 touchdowns while rushing for 3,095 yards and 41 touchdowns and a 9.2 average per carry. Elliott's twin brother, Abram Larner, was also named All-State as a receiver. They had a great connection on the field. Panther coach Rob Zimmerman said, "I'm incredibility proud of how much both Abram and Elliott matured and the type of leaders and players they turned into for their senior seasons. Their names are everywhere in our school record books and what we were able to do on offense this year with them leading the way was actually incredible. To finish as the 7th scoring offense in the nation is beyond comprehension". A truly exciting player to watch, Elliott will continue his football career at Michigan Tech University. |
