Andrew Rumsey

Drew, as a senior, was named to the Associated Press All-State First Team as an offensive lineman for the 2025 season. He was also named to the Detroit Free Press First Team All-State, Detroit News First Team All-State, Michigan High School Football Coaches Association All-State, the Lansing State Journal Dream Team and Capital Area Activities Conference Blue Division All-League.

As a junior he was Second Team Associated Press, Honorable Mention Detroit News All-State, First Team Michigan High School Football Association All-State and also on the Lansing State Journal Dream Team team and Capital Area Activities Conference Blue Division All-League.

Drew was a two year starter for DeWitt that had outstanding success. The Panthers were a combined 26-1 including one state championship (2025) and a spot in the 2024 state semi-finals. With him in the lineup, DeWitt has the two most prolific offensive seasons in the State ever. In his two seasons, Drew helped DeWitt to 203 touchdowns and 13,412 total yards of offense. In 287 passing attempts in Rumsey's two seasons, the DeWitt quarterback was sacked three times.

His senior season, he, along with four other senior linemen, helped DeWitt to a Division 3 state championship in record breaking fashion. DeWitt set all time championship team records for total offense (639 yards), team rushing (575 yards), team rushing touchdowns (7), while enabling DeWitt's QB Traverse Moore to set individual records with touchdowns in a game with 4, a half 4, rushing yards 397 and second all time total offense with 461. DeWitt's quarterback was sacked once in 2025 in 110 attempts.

Drew's senior season, DeWitt rushed for 5,638 yards exceeding the previous State record of 5,490. Total offense of 6,697 yards is just 18 shy of the state record DeWitt set in 2024 and second all time with 102 touchdowns. If the Panther running backs needed a few yards, get in behind #74.

His junior season, DeWitt set state records for total yards in a season with 6,715 (4,471 rushing, 2,244 passing) and second all time in touchdowns with 101 (record of 103). They exceeded 600 yards of offense four times with 697 being the highest.

Rumsey will continue his football career at Michigan Tech University.
