Brandon Soltis

Brandon was named to the Associated Press All-State First Team as a kicker for the 2022 season. He was also named to the Detroit Free Press First Team All-State, Detroit News First Team All-State, Michigan High School Football Coaches Association All-Region and the Lansing State Journal Dream Team. He was also on the Capital Area Activities Conference Blue Division All-League in his senior (2022) season.

Soltis kicked all four years of his Panther career. Being able to kick extra points with a team that scored a lot of touchdowns was a huge plus for Brandon and he was superb. Many games do come down to a dependable extra point kicker as an offensive weapon available to a coach. DeWitt played a number of overtimes games which Soltis never missed an extra point in those games. He kicked 8 consecutive against a 3OT game against and had 9 in a game against Okemos. He also had three field goals in a game twice.

Brandon's freshman season was nearly perfect with 53 of 51 extra points. His sophomore season a nagging ankle injury kept the number of available extra points down and hurt his accuracy. His junior season was with one of DeWitt's most prolific offensive teams where he kicked 74 of 77 extra points with one blocked. His senior season was set for the record books. Against Lansing Waverly, Soltis kicked his 182nd extra point to break the state record for extra points in a career. He went on to settle the new record at 207, 26 more than the previous record. He had consecutive streaks of 28, 32, 38 and 59.

Coach Rob Zimmerman said of Soltis, "Brandon was the first four year starting varsity player I have had as a coach. What a career he had and the fact he owns the state all-time PAT record is incredible. The thing that stands out to me the most though, is what a great teammate he was and how much he cared about the program. A true PANTHER!!".
