Abram was named to the Michigan Sports Writers All-State Team as a receiver for the 2024 season. He was also named to the Detroit Free Press First Team All-State, Detroit News First Team All-State, Lansing State Journal All-Area Dream Team, Michigan High School Football Coaches Association First Team as well as CAAC Red Division All-Conference as a receiver. Larner is one of the fastest and strongest of several receivers named All-State in Panther history. He had incredible hands and extremely adept at picking up the ball in the air to make last instant corrections to his perfectly run route despite over/under coverage. He also added many yards after catch with his ability to see the field and cut and power through defensive backs. Abram was also a defensive back that registered 25 tackles and six interceptions his senior season. For his career he had 41 solo tackles and 22 assists, eight batted passes and seven interceptions. He also returned kicks for the Panthers with 8 punt returns for 143 yards and 11 kickoffs for 203 yards. Abram's career shows his name high on the list of a number of Panther record categories. He ran for 2,078 yards and 18 touchdowns and 2,043 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns on 103 receptions for his three years as a Varsity player. Abram's twin brother Elliott Larner was also named All-State as a quarterback. They had a great connection on the field. Panther coach Rob Zimmerman said, "I'm incredibility proud of how much both Abram and Elliott matured and the type of leaders and players they turned into for their senior seasons. Their names are everywhere in our school record books and what we were able to do on offense this year with them leading the way was actually incredible. To finish as the 7th scoring offense in the nation is beyond comprehension". A fun player to watch, Abram will continue his football career at Grand Valley State University. |
